Baal-Perazim: 80% of David’s Soldiers were Baalites!

I had a spiritual experience via the spiritual gift of "word of knowledge" where it was shown to me that as at 923 BC, Israel still relied on foreign soldiers (foreign mercenaries) for security and defense. The Israelite army was a combination of Hebrews and non-Hebrews. These non-Hebrews did not practice Judaism.

(I literally saw that date: 923 BC. I later went online, plugged in the date, and did a search. I found the confirmation that both kings David and Solomon had lived and died as at 923 BC.)

This means that even after their deaths, the practice continued. When David was around, he employed the loyal services of the Hittites, Cherethites, Pelethites, etc. They continued this loyal service into Solomon's reign, helping to execute David's enemies and solidify Solomon's position on the throne. They were executioners and members of the Jewish army. These gentile soldiers are mentioned in the Jewish Bible (Tanakh) in books like 2nd Samuel, 1st Kings, etc. Men from various non-Hebrew tribes or nations were a part of his soldiers. They fought for him.

So, when you read in the Urantia Book revelations (Urantia Book 97:9.12) that 80% of David’s soldiers were non-Hebrews and were also Baalites, it should not surprise you. People who the Jews considered to be gentiles (goyim) and idol worshippers served loyally in their army.

This has some very important implications. 2 Samuel 5:20 has David giving the name Baal-Perazim to a place. Another evidence of his military association with supposedly idol worshippers. What we see is a nation, Israel, doing what various other nations did - having allies with others, regardless of religious affiliation. And that's not a bad thing. A lot of this went on with the Israelites, way more than their history portrayed in their religious books.

This begs the question, "Please, why?" Why did the Hebrew authors, in retelling their history, edit a lot of those associations out? The reason is simple. They wanted it to look like Yahweh, their own tribal "God" did everything for them spiritually, with little or no help from supposedly idol worshippers.

It was a calculated attempt to edit their history in order to showcase a purely sacred history, excluding any secular or profane history or reducing such to the very barest minimum. And "Why, please?" It was part of the brainwashing of their masses that they were a chosen race. Yes, they were selected or chosen to be light bearers of Jesus' gospel to the world. But this does NOT mean being "a chosen race", "a superior people", etc.

It's clear that the Jewish leaders edited their history just like so many nations did in the past and are still doing to this day. Now, with the Jews, the editing of their history has led to a lot of misunderstandings in the minds of billions of people worldwide, of the true nature and character of God the heavenly Father because of the influence of Judaism on major world religions like Christianity and Islam.

So, please, when you read any book or come across any information, how can you know if editing has taken place? How can you discover the real facts and truths? This is where your personal intellectual and spiritual growth comes in. This is where your nearness to God - your intimacy with the heavenly Father, the Infinite Upholder, our "Source", comes in. This is where study, research, and leaning heavily on the ministry of the Spirit of Truth comes in.

Why Do We Need Salvation?

Now, beloved, why do we need salvation? Do we need salvation because of sin? No, please. We were not created with eternal life inherent within us. We were created mortals, with the potential of becoming immortals IF we accept to wholeheartedly commit ourselves to the eternal divine plan and purpose of God. Embracing the divine love with all our hearts and dedicating our lives to his love is a signal to God that we are totally willing to align with, and eternally commit to his eternal divine plan and purpose. 

As a result, he gives us the free gift of salvation and eternal life. This eternal life is the God-kind of life that empowers us and enables us to literally live forever. In order to fulfill your role in his eternal divine plan and purpose, you have to live forever. So, he gifts you his eternal life. Those who refuse to align with his will and way, ultimately cease to exist. He will not or cannot force them to work with him forever. So, goodbye. They are gone.  Yes, our salvation delivers us from sinning or living in sin. Nevertheless, even if Lucifer had never rebelled and even if we humans do not do very terrible things, we will still be in need of salvation and eternal life. To receive salvation is to be crowned a bonafide spiritual son of God. To receive eternal life or to have eternal life fully functional in your life is to be crowned with the ability to live forever, endlessly, ruling and reigning with the everlasting, ever-loving, all-powerful heavenly Father, the First Source and Divine Center.  We mortals are not created or born with eternal life inherent within us. And we were not born having the absolute, eternal perfection of God. Same goes for some celestial beings like Lucifer. If Lucifer and all other unseen beings who rebelled had the absolute, eternal perfection of "the Father in heaven", they would never ever had rebelled or sinned. The ability or tendency to sin would not have been present. Some of God's children or creatures, terrestrial and celestial alike... ...some... ...were intentionally not created with the absolute, spotless, infallible perfection of God. They were created with varying degrees of perfection and then commanded to EXPERIENCE LIFE and grow or evolve to become perfect as the heavenly Father is perfect. And there are amazing reasons for this.

We know that there are billions upon billions of galaxies. It is estimated that there are between 200 billion to 2 trillion galaxies in the observable universe. Each galaxy has trillions upon trillions of planets and stars. We are definitely not alone. God (our Source) has revealed to those who care to listen that he has intelligent free will mortals in other planets - in trillions of planets. Now, please, what is the requirement for salvation for people living in all these planets out there? It is LOVE - the wholehearted embrace of the divine love by faith that really ushers in the free gift of salvation and eternal life.   Urantia Book 15:14.8  "The grand universe number of your world, Urantia, is 5,342,482,337,666. That is the registry number on Uversa and on Paradise, your number in the catalogue of the inhabited worlds. I know the physical-sphere registry number, but it is of such an extraordinary size that it is of little practical significance to the mortal mind."  Jesus said he has sheep not of this fold or not of this world. Also, God, our heavenly Father can confirm for you that free will intelligent mortals exist in some other planets - if you ask him earnestly and sincerely. Please, have you ever asked God, the God of LOVE?

Are You Under a Curse or a Blessing? #law #grace

You place yourself under a curse if you insist that in order to please or obey God, you MUST do a certain thing, a particular way ALL THE TIME; that you MUST rigidly follow a particular practice through just one method or one way, leaving no room for flexibility. This is a curse because it shuts out spirit. You cannot place the indwelling spirit of our Heavenly Father in a box. You cannot place a strict limit on God. Such a posture drives out divine influences and divine spiritual manifestations. 

When you understand these things, you will begin to appreciate why Jesus did not insist that it is a MUST for people to do this or do that: for example, that it is a MUST to be circumcised; a MUST to give tithes; a MUST to give your entire income of the first month (by the way, the law of Moses didn't even demand the entire income of the first month); a MUST not to wear earrings; a MUST for opposite sexes not to shake hands or exchange hugs, etc, etc. The New and Living Way established and promoted by Jesus Christ did not say, "It is a MUST". Instead it says, "Walk in love." Do all in love as you are led by the spirit from within. It teaches a life that communes with the Father intimately and follows the "divine leading" of the Heavenly Father.

This is a key reason why Paul rightly said in Galatians 5:4, "You have become estranged from Christ, you who attempt to be justified by law; you have fallen from grace." It is not possible to walk by FAITH and JUSTIFICATION if you put yourself under the yoke of, "a set pattern", which is what "the law" does. Also, you cannot implement one or two laws and leave out the others. You must implement ALL. Please, see Galatians 5:3, "And I testify again to every man who becomes circumcised that he is a debtor to keep the whole law." And also, Galatians 3:10, "For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse; for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who does not continue in all things which are written in the book of the law, to do them.”"

Frankly and sincerely, it is not possible to do ALL things written in the book of the law. From the get go, it was designed to put people in bondage. Even if you succeed in implementing all, you will end up in a very severe and terrible bondage. You will shut out the leading of God from your life. You will turn off the Still Small Voice within you. If you place yourself under the law, you cannot successfully walk by faith and great love.

In the New Covenant in Christ Jesus, we are admonished and encouraged to give money or material goods in accordance with what we have been blessed with and to do so cheerfully (lovingly). Let the indwelling spirit of the Father lead you. That’s it. However, do you wish to tithe? Then do it cheerfully and never make it "A LAW" in your life. Even with the tithe, let the spirit lead you as to when, how and to whom to disburse it. Do you wish to give first fruits? Again, the principle is the same. But if you make these things a law, you remove yourself from the blessings of grace; from the blessings of being led by the spirit; from the advantages of “doing things in different ways as opposed to strictly and rigidly following a set pattern”. You may unknowingly invite curses into your life, as explained above.

Be led by the spirit. You are under grace not the law. You are under the anointing of faith that works by love not religious laws. For example, the spirit of God the Father within you can say to you, “I know you are in the habit of taking a tithe to your local Church. However, this month, I want you to take that 10% and give it to your Aunt who is going through a financial crisis.” Bear in mind, in the kingdom of God, you are not chained down by a strictly rigid way of doing things! So, would you acknowledge that as God’s voice or would you rebuke it, “I rebuke the devil in Jesus’ name.” Deep speaks unto deep!

Please, understand that you are to live a life of liberty, obeying the law of the "Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus", the law of "Faith that works by love". (Please, see Galatians 5:6). This is the perfect law of liberty, the law of love (James 1:25-27). Be guided by the divine love not religious laws. Be led from within you! The heavenly Father’s perfect law is in your mind, and it is written on your heart (Jeremiah 31:33). What you need to do is to “activate” a real, living and powerful personal relationship with Him. We need to come to a very high place of deep intimacy with the Father in order to understand and walk in the reality of these things. Amen. This is the all powerful domain of the realities of the New Creation “in Christ”. May God Almighty bless us! Hallelujah! Hosanna in the Highest!

The Great Commission I

My focus here is on taking the gospel to the world; and not on taking the Urantia Book to the world. (However, it is noteworthy to say that CMC does both.)

The Urantia Revelations make two things very clear:
1) Personal, private ministry ('as you pass by') - your character and your one-on-one interactions proclaim truth, beauty and goodness, transforming lives.
2) Public ministry - proactively taking the gospel to people on a massive scale, from city to city, country to country. 

We see both in Melchizedek's Earth life. We see both in Jesus' Earth life. Jesus encourages us to do the same today. People who are only focused on private ministry should not tear down those who are focused on both private and public. We are a team! 

The Master sent out Kingdom believers TO PROACTIVELY GO TO VILLAGES AND CITIES TEACHING AND PREACHING THE GOSPEL OF THE KINGDOM... How can we effectively take the teachings of Jesus to every part of the planet - reaching thousands and millions, at a time, if we do not engage in some form of "conscious, calculated organization"? 

The Master commanded us to take his teachings all over the world. He led by example by sending out believers to different places to reach out to others; to preach and teach - publicly. Jesus had an "organized movement" in place. Different people had different tasks. For example, Matthew Levi was a fundraiser. Judas Iscariot was their treasurer. Simon Peter was an eloquent spokesman - preacher and teacher... There was a sustainable structure in place. 

To take the gospel to villages, cities and countries all over the world would require SOME (or A FEW) faith-liberated individuals to put in 20, 30 or even 50 hours of work per week. It requires a well coordinated and sustained effort. It requires planning, time and money. It requires setting up a structure - a 'movement'; an 'organization'; a 'church' or whatever is needed to get the job done. Let's not deceive ourselves. There's really practically no other way in this day and age.

A key objective for us is to clearly understand the duties and responsibilities placed on us, by the Fifth Epochal Revelation or the FER (The Urantia Book) and also those placed on us by the gospel message. They are greatly interrelated but they are not exactly the same. The FER may experience 'slow growth' but the gospel message does not have to. The majority of humans on Earth may not be ready for the FER but they are ready for the gospel teachings. Lack of understanding of this vital fact is a major reason why we are not doing so well - globally, in obeying the Master’s command. 

Some readers frown at Public Ministries because of the abuse they see amongst some tele-evangelists and some Church or Religious leaders. These things should not and must not make us reject "organizations" and public outreach work. Some humans may abuse power, authority, finances, etc but that does not mean the WORK ITSELF should not be done.

We have a great book - the Urantia Book, filled with nuggets to equip us with wisdom, knowledge and understanding. If any group of people should do better, then I think we ought to be that group. I see nothing to fear or be worried about. The Master knew quite well the fallibility of humans yet out of faith and trust, he commissions them to work under an umbrella as an organized team to do Public Outreach Work. With the knowledge we have, we should be able to do better than our 'stigmatized' tele-evangelist brothers and sisters... ...But should we fail, we learn, we grow, we evolve. We get wiser. There's really no other way.

"I Surrender All"

3. Instruction for Teachers and Believers

^159:3.1 At Edrei, where Thomas and his associates labored, Jesus spent a day and a night and, in the course of the evening’s discussion, gave expression to the principles which should guide those who preach truth, and which should activate all who teach the gospel of the kingdom. Summarized and restated in modern phraseology, Jesus taught: 

^159:3.2 Always respect the personality of man. Never should a righteous cause be promoted by force; spiritual victories can be won only by spiritual power. This injunction against the employment of material influences refers to psychic force as well as to physical force. Overpowering arguments and mental superiority are not to be employed to coerce men and women into the kingdom. Man’s mind is not to be crushed by the mere weight of logic or overawed by shrewd eloquence. While emotion as a factor in human decisions cannot be wholly eliminated, it should not be directly appealed to in the teachings of those who would advance the cause of the kingdom. Make your appeals directly to the divine spirit that dwells within the minds of men. Do not appeal to fear, pity, or mere sentiment. In appealing to men, be fair; exercise self-control and exhibit due restraint; show proper respect for the personalities of your pupils. Remember that I have said: “Behold, I stand at the door and knock, and if any man will open, I will come in.” 

^159:3.3 In bringing men into the kingdom, do not lessen or destroy their self-respect. While overmuch self-respect may destroy proper humility and end in pride, conceit, and arrogance, the loss of self-respect often ends in paralysis of the will. It is the purpose of this gospel to restore self-respect to those who have lost it and to restrain it in those who have it. Make not the mistake of only condemning the wrongs in the lives of your pupils; remember also to accord generous recognition for the most praiseworthy things in their lives. Forget not that I will stop at nothing to restore self-respect to those who have lost it, and who really desire to regain it. 

^159:3.4 Take care that you do not wound the self-respect of timid and fearful souls. Do not indulge in sarcasm at the expense of my simple-minded brethren. Be not cynical with my fear-ridden children. Idleness is destructive of self-respect; therefore, admonish your brethren ever to keep busy at their chosen tasks, and put forth every effort to secure work for those who find themselves without employment. 

^159:3.5 Never be guilty of such unworthy tactics as endeavoring to frighten men and women into the kingdom. A loving father does not frighten his children into yielding obedience to his just requirements. 

^159:3.6 Sometime the children of the kingdom will realize that strong feelings of emotion are not equivalent to the leadings of the divine spirit. To be strongly and strangely impressed to do something or to go to a certain place, does not necessarily mean that such impulses are the leadings of the indwelling spirit. 

^159:3.7 Forewarn all believers regarding the fringe of conflict which must be traversed by all who pass from the life as it is lived in the flesh to the higher life as it is lived in the spirit. To those who live quite wholly within either realm, there is little conflict or confusion, but all are doomed to experience more or less uncertainty during the times of transition between the two levels of living. In entering the kingdom, you cannot escape its responsibilities or avoid its obligations, but remember: The gospel yoke is easy and the burden of truth is light. 

^159:3.8 The world is filled with hungry souls who famish in the very presence of the bread of life; men die searching for the very God who lives within them. Men seek for the treasures of the kingdom with yearning hearts and weary feet when they are all within the immediate grasp of living faith. Faith is to religion what sails are to a ship; it is an addition of power, not an added burden of life. There is but one struggle for those who enter the kingdom, and that is to fight the good fight of faith. The believer has only one battle, and that is against doubt — unbelief. 

^159:3.9 In preaching the gospel of the kingdom, you are simply teaching friendship with God. And this fellowship will appeal alike to men and women in that both will find that which most truly satisfies their characteristic longings and ideals. Tell my children that I am not only tender of their feelings and patient with their frailties, but that I am also ruthless with sin and intolerant of iniquity. I am indeed meek and humble in the presence of my Father, but I am equally and relentlessly inexorable where there is deliberate evil-doing and sinful rebellion against the will of my Father in heaven.

^159:3.10 You shall not portray your teacher as a man of sorrows. Future generations shall know also the radiance of our joy, the buoyance of our good will, and the inspiration of our good humor. We proclaim a message of good news which is infectious in its transforming power. Our religion is throbbing with new life and new meanings. Those who accept this teaching are filled with joy and in their hearts are constrained to rejoice evermore. Increasing happiness is always the experience of all who are certain about God. 

^159:3.11 Teach all believers to avoid leaning upon the insecure props of false sympathy. You cannot develop strong characters out of the indulgence of self-pity; honestly endeavor to avoid the deceptive influence of mere fellowship in misery. Extend sympathy to the brave and courageous while you withhold overmuch pity from those cowardly souls who only halfheartedly stand up before the trials of living. Offer not consolation to those who lie down before their troubles without a struggle. Sympathize not with your fellows merely that they may sympathize with you in return. 

^159:3.12 When my children once become self-conscious of the assurance of the divine presence, such a faith will expand the mind, ennoble the soul, reinforce the personality, augment the happiness, deepen the spirit perception, and enhance the power to love and be loved. 

^159:3.13 Teach all believers that those who enter the kingdom are not thereby rendered immune to the accidents of time or to the ordinary catastrophes of nature. Believing the gospel will not prevent getting into trouble, but it will insure that you shall be unafraid when trouble does overtake you. If you dare to believe in me and wholeheartedly proceed to follow after me, you shall most certainly by so doing enter upon the sure pathway to trouble. I do not promise to deliver you from the waters of adversity, but I do promise to go with you through all of them. 

^159:3.14 And much more did Jesus teach this group of believers before they made ready for the night’s sleep. And they who heard these sayings treasured them in their hearts and did often recite them for the edification of the apostles and disciples who were not present when they were spoken.

'Private Ministry' vs. 'Public Ministry', a brief overview.

We are all called into "private ministry". And it is important to note that NOT EVERYONE is called into "public ministry". If indeed you are among the few that are called into public ministry, you should know this, deep down, on your inside. Many times, it will cost you a lot more, to wholeheartedly commit to the call to public ministry. This is a key reason why a very strong and reliable support base is needed. (Of course the celestials support but you need human beings to support you.)

For His public ministry, Jesus had a strong support base - His inner circle of Apostles and Evangelists. He also had some disciples, well wishers, etc. There were people who gave him moral support and prayed for Him and made donations to assist the work.

Our work of presenting the message of the Kingdom (Gospel Message) and the Fifth Epochal Revelation would gain greater traction when many more readers understand and appreciate these things.

Having a Sustainable Impact on, "The World-Mind"

Fellow Urantia Book readers, please let us strike directly at a very important objective: "What did Jesus do?" Where are the pastors, teachers and evangelists in our midst? Where are the ministers?

There has to be a better way of presenting the "undiluted" message of the gospel to the world - to people in villages, towns and cities. This would involve having a "structure" in place. This would involve "money". Some teachers would have to commit at least 40 hours per week to the work. 4 hours of "volunteer" work is not sufficient. This is what we see looking at Jesus and his apostles and evangelists as they embarked on a "Public Ministry" (not "Private Ministry").

This is not about forcing the entire Urantia Book down the throats of the masses. It's not about "rushing" to get millions of humans to change their entire mindset instantly. That's not the point. Rather, the point is having a sustainable impact on "the world-mind" with the simple, clear and undiluted gospel teachings as presented in the Urantia Book. Many souls will be saved, healed, delivered, spiritually enlightened, uplifted... Laborers are needed in the Master’s vineyard. More people, who can devote 40 or more hours weekly are needed to take the message of love, grace and truth to the ends of the Earth.

Machiventa Melchizedek did it with his students. He had a headquarters in Salem (that is "structure" or "organization", folks). The Salem headquarters needed "funding" constantly. Remember Abraham paid tithes to Melchizedek? Jesus did a similar thing with his apostles, disciples, evangelists... They were funded as well. The Apostles couldn't work full time at a job or business. Their families had to be supported. Jesus and his inner circle had to be supported financially as well. Matthew was "the money getter". Believers gave cheerfully to Jesus' Public Ministry. Judas was the treasurer.

More light workers are needed to "GO!" - and preach the gospel of the kingdom and proclaim the saving truth that man is a son of God; to present the teachings of the kingdom in ways that can be easily understood by the common man. Jesus said "the harvest is plenteous". How do we look at this? Please, compare and contrast with the "slow growth" concept of the dissemination of the Fifth Ephocal Revelation.

Look at it this way: There may be "slow growth" with regards to people fully embracing the Fifth Ephocal Revelation and having a very good grasp of its many information. But when it comes to getting people to having a clear understanding of the "gospel message", the harvest is plenteous. We do not have to shelve the entire Urantia Book on people's laps. But we are called to work together in teams, to share the gospel message to the entire world's population.

So the question is, "Please, what is stopping us from having a sustainable impact on "the world-mind" with the simple, clear and undiluted gospel teachings as presented in the Urantia Book?" Let us strike directly for our objectives! Please, let's not make it look complicated. "Strike directly for your objectives!"

“And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force." - Jesus, Matthew 11:12. The violent ones take it by force - by spiritual assault! Glory!
